Between 1989 and 1991 Miller was fortunate to be able to tour the world DJ’ing his skills in Congo drumming, and after a stint working with May on his Transmat record label, Miller later began releasing his music under the alias of Aphrodisiac. Alton has recorded and released music for some of the best independent labels in the industry since the nineties. Guidance Recordings and BPM Records were plateaus for Alton’s inner growth as a musician and songwriter/producer. Past and recent releases include recordings for Planet E, King Street/Nitegrooves, Trackmode Records, Moods and Grooves and KDJ. Alton’s long player ‘Stories from Bohemia’ debuted in 2003 on Peacefrog records. Miller’s remix credits have featured on a numerous list of labels including F-com, Lace Recordings, ProgCity, Seasons Limited, Defected, Rize Radical,Music 101, Metaphor, Distance, and Intuit-Solar, with his tour work taking him to Canada, Chile, England, France, Japan, Switzerland, Australia, Puerto-Rico and various other countries as he flies the flag displaying the intricacies of House music. His intimate connection with the drums and varied African influenced rhythms result in compositions that move people physically and emotionally. As a sixties child, Detroit legend Alton Miller grew up in the 1970s with a rich musical culture, with the sounds of Motown, Philadelphia, and artists such as Parliament-Funkadelic and Santana. It wasn’t until the 80’s when he’d made friends with a young Derrick May that he decided to start spinning records, citing Chicago DJs such as Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles as prime influences.
